Welcome to Bardsey Action Group

Bardsey Action Group (BAG) exists to protect the green belt around the village of Bardsey, in NE Leeds, from the threat of uncontrolled and unsustainable housing development. Formed in 1993, BAG has been brought back to action in 2016 because of a proposal by landowner Bramham Estate to build 150 houses on a field within the greenbelt.

To object to the proposal you need to set up an account (easy to do) and confirm it via email, then file your objection. Paste this link into your browser.

If you then want to email BAG with your objection, we would be happy to put it on the site with or without your name.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Our objective is to make sure that Bardsey’s concerns are heard – by Bramham Estate and its partners, and by Leeds Council and its planners. It could be a lengthy process if the application is rejected by Leeds and the Estate decides to appeal.

No matter how little, everyone can help – from writing letters to telling your neighbours what’s happening.

But we do need some core administrative skills to help us build up and manage the group effectively.

We may need finance to buy in professional skills from outside, so if you have fundraising experience let us know.

If you have marketing, PR or any other communications skills you can help develop our website and social media links.

Please tell us how you think you can contribute.
