BAG – Bardsey Action Group

Have Your Say on the Future of Bardsey

What is BAG

Bardsey Action Group (BAG) – What We Do

Purpose

Bardsey Action Group is run by local volunteers and exists to support local residents in engaging with planning consultations and development proposals that affect our village.

Our aims

  • Support residents practically – provide information, clear guides, crib sheets, and resources to help people put forward their own comments, whether in support, objection, or general feedback.
  • Champion the Bardsey Neighbourhood Plan – ensuring that development reflects the vision already agreed by villagers, including protecting green spaces, enhancing footpaths, and supporting small-scale, sustainable growth.
  • Challenge unsustainable development – opposing large-scale or inappropriate proposals that threaten Bardsey’s character, countryside, and infrastructure.
  • Empower community voice – making it easier for every resident to have their say and ensure that local knowledge, evidence, and priorities are considered in planning decisions.

Our approach

Whilst we cannot support or object to every planning application in the village, BAG focuses on major proposals and those that could have a significant impact on the community, the environment, and delivery of the Neighbourhood Plan.

We are not anti-development – we support the right kind of development in the right places. We want housing and business opportunities that are proportionate, sustainable, and aligned with what the community has asked for.

How You Can Get Involved

Share local knowledgephotos, maps, wildlife sightings, traffic issues, or personal experiences can all strengthen community responses.

Spread the wordtell neighbours, friends, and family so more voices are heard.

Volunteer your time or skillsfrom helping with research and writing, to delivering leaflets, or simply offering local expertise.

Make a financial contribution or help to fundraiseat times, if the group believes that unsustainable development poses a real risk, we may need to bring in professional support (e.g., planning consultants, ecological or traffic specialists). In these cases, fundraising and contributions help cover costs so the community can present the strongest possible case.
